propelled by a yearning for communal listening, and curated through a Ayisien mother's / dancer's delightful sonic palette, "manman'm renmen sa anpil" is a series that yearns to gather ancestors in training around sounds, literature and exchanges rooted in musical knowledge and curiosity.

for this first iteration, sonic offerings by the two artists credited for the creation of Ayiti's renowned sonic realm, konpa - Nemours Jean-Baptiste and Webert Sicot - will gently waltz with one another for an hour under the guidance of G L O W Z I. following this dance through sounds, a short introduction of the aforementioned artists, their desires, as well as the times that shaped their artistic explorations and lives will be shared.
this gathering will conclude with an invitation to exchange about the heard music, and to consult additional vinyl records that shaped the emergence of konpa throughout 1950-1960 Ayiti as well as books related to the country's eclectic culture.
the event is free, masks will be offered and required, and the location will be sent to participants upon registration.
